Right now on Wattpad we have two great ways to get a feel for what the publishing industry is like. One is for self published authors and the other is open to anyone!

The first is being run by Chooseco, a US based publisher that is looking for writers’ help with their series “Fabulous Terrible”. They’re posting the first novel on Wattpad and are looking for submissions from writers about what they should do for a sequel. This is a very cool opportunity to see what it like working for a publishing company AND a great way to get your writing seen by a major publisher. 

If you are interested in making a more serious step into writing, this might be a great first move. 

Second opportunity we have going is for Self Published Authors. This is a contest for writers who’ve self published their books and are looking to create additional exposure for themselves. Shelf Unbound is a literary magazine available on iPads. All entries into this contest will be read by the editorial staff at Shelf Unbound and the winning story will be published in an upcoming issue.
